Gov't confirms payment of 2012 Boden bonds
The national Government has paid the US$2.2 billion corresponding to payments of the 2012 Boden bonds with reserves of the Central Bank, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced.
“In a world that is falling part, in which the elimination of social plans to pay debt is still being discussed, this Argentina that almost slipped away has paid 2.2 billion paying homage to the restructuration led by former President Néstor Kirchner,” President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced while she inaugurated a food processing plant of La Serenísima firm in the Burzaco industrial park, in the Greater Buenos Aires area of Almirante Brown.
Boden 2012 bonds were issued in 2002 and were handed to those who had accounts in foreign currency, in a ten year period and 8 annual payments. Wednesday’s will be the next to last payment. The last one will expire on August 2012.
